Cerberus was Hades' hound that guarded the Underworld from the living who would try to find their dead loved-ones. He had multiple heads, numbers vary, and had a snake for a tail. He was once kidnapped as Heracles' final Labor, and brought up from the Underworld where his drool puddled on the ground and sprouted a poisonous plant called aconite.
